4.1 Current associated with a magnetic field

Introduction

In a magnetic field B ̲ , an associated current is given by:

Mathematical statement of problem

We need to evaluate the curl of B ̲ . Mathematical analysis

and so I ̲ = B 0 μ 0 j ̲ .

Interpretation

The current is perpendicular to the field and to the direction of variation of the field.
